Italian glamour in the
luxury marketplace

Bulgari flagship store at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport

At the end of 2021, i.e. at the end of this report’s review period, Imperial Duty Free (IDF) – the joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann, the airport operator and local partner Greenway, was able to look back on a successful year. Before going to print, the war in Ukraine had started in February 2022, deeply impacting current and future perspectives.

When Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport’s international Terminal C reopened in June 2021 following a 15-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the elegant boutiques and the extensive main Duty Free shop were able to shine once more. Imperial Duty Free (IDF) – the joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann, the airport operator and local partner Greenway – had created a luxury marketplace here just before the onset of the pandemic. After the decision was made to resume flights from this terminal, the IDF team had a lead time of only five weeks to welcome passengers back with an impressive shopping experience. In November 2021, the joint venture created an additional highlight and expanded its exclusive offer with the opening of a Bulgari mono-brand boutique.
